  • CoverKing car cover - How do I know what I have?

I’m hoping one of this knowledgeable crew can help me out. When I bought my 2004 LIB, there was a CoverKing cover in the trunk. I can’t see myself using it, it’s taking up closet space, and as the son of two survivors of the Great Depression, there’s no way I’m throwing it out. However, I don’t know how to determine what grade it is. It is labeled “CoverKing” and “Made in the USA” but that’s it. So I don’t know if it’s indoor or outdoor grade.

Based on looking at the CoverKing website I *think*:
    1. It’s custom because it has pockets for the side mirrors
    2. The fabric looks like the pictures of the 4-ply Coverbond-4 moderate weather grade but that’s based on the appearance and spacing of the bonding dimples in the picture which is pretty subjective.

I’m not looking to sell this thing. None of my immediate retro-driving friends want it. But if I even offer it for the cost of shipping, I’d like to provide an accurate description. Is any a sufficient cover expert to tell me for sure what I have?

    Thanks,
    Duane

Duane, call CoverKing to find out if it is suitable for outdoor use. If they make more than one type they should be able to tell you how to tell what you have.

Interested in buying Duane. PM me for price etc. Folks in areas of constant sun shine don't need but those of us that store in winter need just enough protection to keep clean as most store in an enclosed area.

Looks good, I guess you know what you have!

Material looks like Noah too, which is excellent for an outdoor cover.

The cover I inherited has Coverking in big bold letters on the front. It has a very nice soft felt inner lining. Does anyone know if this might be machine washable?

I think they all are BUT NO FABRIC SOFTENER with cold water. I would do it in one of those huge laundromat machines. Dry on the lowest temperature or air dry if possible.

Add my name to the list of interested/potential buyers, please. Sounds like an auction might be coming up. ---Will

Or with a very minimal bit of online research .....
