Hello--
I drive a 2003 Thunderbird. This is not another case of the parking brake boot breaking and pulling up from the console; the leather boot around the parking brake has cracked in a couple of places, showing the white padding underneath.
I have the replacement cover good to install, but I don't know how to do it. I have seen the console pulled out of a car being parted out, but I don't see how to remove it (no obvious fasteners, etc). I also don't know how to get the existing boot off the parking brake lever, as it seems flush and tightly installed.
Has anyone swapped out the boot themselves and can steer me in the right direction?
