  • Surprising interest in the T Bird,

Was recently visited by a Couple who worked for a 2 time NASCAR championship team and they both were very interested in my T Bird sitting in the garage. Both of them had Corvettes, which they recently sold, that were bought with their championship bonus money. They seemed to know very little about the T birds but were actually fascinated by the car and talked about it for nearly an hour,

    Who wudda thunk it ?

Our cars aren't rare or collectable, yet. But they aren't common either. If you go to a cruise almost anywhere, you are likely to have the only 2002-2005 Thunderbird in attendance. Our cars have a unique look to them and without even sitting in them, they look comfortable. The design encompasses all of the earlier Tbirds in a way that brings a little nostalgia to people who are familiar with earlier versions. If the top is down, and someone is admiring your car, give them a treat by opening the door and letting them sit behind the wheel. They will all smile and at a car show or Cruise, who doesn't want to sit down once in a while? Try it !

Interesting Ron. My 'Baby Blue' got sold to the Cadillac dealership for 14k. Then the sold to the Jeep dealer for 16k. Then they sold her to a private party for 17k! THEN, I get a PM from Talk of The Villages from someone wanting to join our Tbird group....they just bought an 03 in blue............you guessed it...my car! small world

Ron, I really think that as our cars inch towards being a $10,000 car and the last of the baby boomers reach retirement age our cars as week-ends rides will see increased interest.

I can't tell you how many people come up to me at car shows and say, "that car reminds me of the one" (fill in the blank) when I was a kid. The Whisper White with Torch Red hard top does give it a very vintage look. Some are shocked that it's a 2003 and not an early bird.

When my 03 was only three months old, a guy wanted to know if it was the original paint.

Is Ibiza a town on the Jersey Shore? It's possible.

Dunno but we should put a T-Bird event together for there.

I'm on Sanibel Island right now. Drove the '02 TBird 4 hours down here from Orlando and got lots of looks and a few folks exiting a restaurant looking it over.

It certainly stands out in the parking lot of the resort cabins where we rented when compared to the minivans, SUVs and econoboxes everybody else is driving.
