IMG_0001 (6).JPGAs mentioned in another post the seat repair material matched but as you can see in the picture, the seat back seems cockeyed where it meets the seat cushion. I do not see any easy to get to adjustments . Anyone have thoughts on getting this seat apart/adjusted. Went to service manual and lots of info on the electronics but not on the alignment.

Something else to confuse Bill, should not have mentioned that.Originally posted by Quickdraw View PostIsn't the problem that the perforated seat insert was sewn crooked in relation to the two sides? The seat back has diagonal perfs and the seat has horizontal perfs...

Sorry, I wasn't thinking.... if the stitches in that insert were taken out and resewn it doesn't seem like the needle holes would be that noticeable....Originally posted by 4LOWBIRDS+8 View Post

new part the back or the seat? or both?
edit..ok it was the seat.. I looked in your previous post at the seat before you had it done. it was the same as it is now and from observing it I would guess that the left side of back has compressed over time and to fix it would require new padding under the material on the back of the seat. this is from a common sense point of view ,that of which I sometimes am lacking.
this is BEFORE the fix, noticethat misalignment is already there not the fault of the apolster

Yes they messed up on the perfs, But as far as the seams go, Take you palm and beat the material in opposite directions to adjust it. Or you may have to remove the hog rings holding the cover in place and adjust accordingly.
I personally would not be happy with the upholsterer who messed up on the perfs.

Bill, wasn't part of the deal that you would supply leather for another car they were trying to repair. Wonder if the other one had the same issues or if yours was the Guinea pig and the other is correct. Even though it isn't quite right, it's probably not that noticeable to the average buyer.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

Yes Paul that is correct. The black with saddle that I provided the material for was repaired months before mine and I saw it as it left the shop and it looked fine. The lady who owns the shop still thinks God sent me!!!!!Originally posted by 2K2BIRD View PostBill, wasn't part of the deal that you would supply leather for another car they were trying to repair. Had a quote for $350 locally. She charged me $50 to show how appreciative she was. Could be the ultimate "you get what you pay for!". There still is a saddle driver seat at a yard in Georgia. Tried to call today couldn't get them. Will install and see how it looks but the Bird won't come out 'til May and my heart just isn't in it right now.Bill Coates-Canfield, Ohio

Really doesnt look that bad. If you didnt point it out i wouldnt have noticed it at all. I think the material could be slightly heated and stretched a bit...carefully...or parked in the sun then use your palm to persuade it more into place. Good luck to you.
