  • 1999 Black Bird Prototype just sold at Mecum

    Wow, many of us viewed this car at the Sarasota Museum while doing the tour of Florida's coasts. It has been for sale for years at a hefty $250k. Sold for about a tenth of that.

    I believe it has a 4.6 engine so it is drivable but I don't think it is able to be registered for street use. Sure many here have much more info.

        It was built as a Lincoln LS Bill with a Lincoln VIN . Then all three ( Red, black and yellow were modified for the Retro Proto type . The red one later became the Thunderbird roadster . Perhaps they could be registered under a Lincoln VIN .

          I posted on this a few weeks ago, but my pictures were too big so it had to be taken down. Anyway I think you meant Barrett Jackson sold the car and in the under the hood pictures it showed it did not have a 4.6 but the 3.9 with the throttle body in the back of the engine. Some states like Idaho it might be possible to register
