  • A very biased review of our Birds

I've been away from the Nest for too long.

I stumbled on this video and just knew I had to post it. He has some valid points, but his review completely misses home.

Well, many of his points aren't inaccurate. But I'm still happy with the two I have. I've had my 2003 which i bought new for 17 years and my 2005 which I bought used in 2008 for 12 years now. All these years later, I still enjoy driving them; especially on road trips.

To me the Thunderbird was always such an iconic car in many ways and I always admired many of the different body styles over the years. Oh, I wasn't in the target market I guess as I was 39 when I bought my gray 03.

I had to do the math, I was 38 when I bought my first 02.

Having been around in 1994..., a group of the early planners for this car interviewed owners of the classic tbird - a group whose age at that time was in their 40s,50s, and 60s. They were attendees at the CTCI international convention at Dearborn, Michigan, the 3rd or 4th time it had been hosted in the Detroit area since the national club had started . Always well attended by members.

Dang I was almost 65. Will be 8 full years next month. Guess I like it a whole bunch as I have never owned a car more than 3 years.

Seriously: Isn't the majority of what you read, hear and see almost always come from a bias point of view? You just have to be able to separate opinion from fact.

So I just watched this video and my reaction is
the guy is a moron whose opinion I wouldn't listen to again, even if he was reviewing a Yugo or a Renault R-5.

Bill, I was 64 when I bought my 2005 in 2006. The first Tbird I drove was when I was 16 in 1958, it was a White 1956 with a 3 speed manual w/overdrive. I wanted a two seat Tbird from 1958 until 2006 and when they first came out in late 2001 the dealers wouldn't deal! So, I waited.
