Yes, it kind of does, but that's the wrong part of the country. I think it's obvious that one or more bears are involved.

      Hint - think New England.

          Winner, winner - chicken dinner!

Way to go, Pat. You just forgot to say the name of the event was Thunder East By NorthEast.

The tour of the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory was a lot of fun. The fuzzy bear cut out and pin were given to those of us that took the tour.

Here's a couple of pictures of event participants at different times during the event.

          • Paul, I really enjoy your "Throwback Thursday" thread. It's great to see all the places this very adventurous group has been to. The only downside to the thread is that it makes me realize how much I've missed out on, but on the upside it is giving me many place that I will add to the list of "must see" if I ever get to that area.

So I thank you for all the great "Trip Tips" as I call them. I hope you can keep the thread going as I'm sure it's plenty of work for you.

            Thanks. Ted.

            • Thanks, Ted. Sometimes it's hard to tell if others are enjoying this. I have to say it is keeping me entertained. As I happen on to something I think will be fun to talk about, I often don't remember the details about the item or event either. That sends me back into prior threads for information. While I'm there I find myself being entertained by the words of current and past members, some of whom I have not thought of in awhile. It also brings back fond memories of friends we have lost over the years. TBN has been an amazing place to be for the last 18+ years.

If so many people weren't enjoying this thread you wouldn't have so many views!

The top picture was taken with friends from the New England Chapter of TBN. Sorry I don’t have last names but there was Richard, Gordon, Wes ( the tour guide at the airport and he worked there), Nicky the squid,John DePinto, and Chuck. Great time! They also guided us around the area.

The second picture is our group at a lake near the visitor center. The reason we are standing in front of a lake is because the “ little old lady” behind the desk told us that the moose are always at the lake about this time. So off we go flying down the road to the lake expecting to see a moose. WRONG! There wasn’t even a raccoon track in the mud let alone a moose track! So we had been HAD by the “ little old lady”. We all had a good laugh and another great memory of that trip.

                    • Good times for sure, Pat.

This week's throwback is a pretty specific piece of TBN memorabilia.

Let's see who knows something about the document pictured below (my apologies for the quality of the photo, it got a little washed out in the adjustment process). I'll post the original picture later.

                      20200923_235754.jpg

                      1. Who was the recipient of this honor from Thunder Nest University?

                      2. At what event did the honoree have this honor bestowed on them?

                        • Ron beat me to it, an event I was in attendance of. And a great event it was (as are they all).

                          • Wow, Doug, these guys were on it this morning! Maybe a little too easy? Doug (and I) thought that most folks probably didn't get a chance to actually see how nicely done his honorary degree was done at the event, so this was a chance to show it off. Thanks for the submission, Doug.

If anyone else has some fun memorabilia from past events and would like to share it, send me a PM with an explanation and a picture attached and I'll work it in.

Since, today's throwback went so quickly, here's a bonus. Our events have often been picked up by the local press. Here's a time when it got a picture on the front page of the Sunday paper.

                            20200924_092724.jpg

                            1. Who is the special lady featured in the picture and what was her TBN handle?

                            2. What was the name of the event and it's location?

                            3. What is a bin?

                            4. What famous crossroad is nearby and what made it famous?

                            5. What was her little friend's name?
