  • Cleaning convertible top boot

    Hello all,

Relatively new member here, Jerry in New Jersey. I have a 2005 bronze anniversary edition. The top tonneau (boot?) cover has some stains on it and I’m wondering What to use to clean it? Thanks In advance for your thoughts!

Careful not to use anything too harsh. I would suggest the 303 brand cleaner usually found at AutoZone and a soft brush. I also use a hand held steam cleaner that really works great for cleaning on the boot and canvas top with just soapy water.

Hi, Jerry, I’m over in Lawrenceville! You should also be able to find 303 in one of the local marine supply shops.

After cleaning & after it is well dry I suggest you spray it with Scotch Guard. I have done this every Spring on my 05 for the past 15 summers.
Sure makes keeping the boot clean easier & seems to have reduced sun fade.

Same product you use to clean the top.

You shouldn't need Scotch Guard if you use the proper Aerospace 303 product...

My '02 top had apparently never been treated so two doses of the above product and water runs off it like it were made of glass. A cleaner/stain remover spray followed by a preservative treatment in the kit shown.
