Is Your Trunk Like Mine?

When I open my trunk lid, there are two rectangular black pads on the driver side. The passenger side has none. I see no obvious reason to have these pads. Is my car correct? Should there be pads on both sides? Should there be no pads? As the original owner I can attest that it came delivered this way.

Gene, I have never seen those pads before. None of my three Birds ever had those.

That’s a thought but they don’t do anything as far as I can tell. I’m wondering whether the dealer was supposed to remove them during prep. If no one else has them I will peel them off.

I was able to inspect my 05 as it came off the truck at the dealer. Together the receiving dealer tec & I removed all the protection. It's been almost 16 yrs but I don't recall seeing anything like the pads in your photos.

Remove them. Or keep them in place & be the owner of a really unique 007.
