  • Door open lamp on.

I have a weird thing happening in my 2003: My door-open light is staying on, but all the lights in trunk and inside car do go off when the doors are closed.
All doors are clearly and solidly closed, I did spray the door jams with WD-40 (suggested on a Facebook forum), to no avail. Is there more than one switch on the doors ?

Any thoughts ? Should I try disconnecting battery and resetting the car ? I think one under-dash bulb is out, but that shouldn't cause this right ?

WD-40 is not a cureall... the "WD" is for Water Displacement; spray lithium or Teflon is what you want...

There is only one switch in each door that works the dash warning light, one in the trunk and maybe one under the hood (can't recall that for sure)...

How did you determine the trunk light goes out ? The best way is to put your cell phone on video record, place it in the trunk and open and close it several times then review the captured video...

There is a open hood switch. This is also part of the "door ajar(open) indicator circuit.
The hood switch is on the edge of the driver side fender, the rubber corrugated piece mounted on a small bendable bracket. It most likely has gotten bent or moved allowing the edge of the hood to miss activating it when closed.

Thanks guys. I checked the trunk (@frank dreano) by pushing the trunk light button, next-to the latch. I will check hood switch, good to know ! I can try another contact cleaner in the doors too.
