  • '02 custom soft boot needed to copy

I was just talking with Rich at J+R upholstery in Yuma AZ about making a custom soft boot for the '02.. He needs a donor boot to copy. If a TBN member could loan him one to copy that'd be perfect. But...better yet...if some one has a boot that's tatty or torn he'll make a new boot FREE for that donor!
I told him that I'd put it out to the forum and if someone could help with this project please post it to me and I'll talk again with him. For those that have been wanting a boot (me) the cost would be $475 which I don't think is too bad. Mitch

FYI Mitch, we have a member backtothefuturepete (I think that's it) who owns a upholstery shop and is making boots for close to that price I believe.

Certainly would like to see the finished product. At $475 .00 his material costs alone if done to the quality of OEM, he will not break even.
The boots are not easy to replicate.

At this point I don't know if he's talking about a semi rigid one like OEM for the '02 or a canvas type that would roll up. Have to get a donor to copy first though.I asked him if a tracing would suffice but he said it wouldn't be accurate enough. He did say that at the quoted price he wouldn't be making but about $75.
