If this is its look, I think it would be better letting Lincoln renew the Cougar name, but then again, there are no rules as to what a TBird must look like. Thanks for sharing, Lee.

I think it’s just speculation. The same thing happened in 2018.

The car shown has a Euro license plate. Kinda ugly, too.

Can’t find anything else like this reported on any other credible site.

Wish it looked more like a Thunderbird should, and not like a 2-door Fusion. The 5.0 Coyote engine that they refer to is the same spec as my 2018 F-150. I'm sure that they could do better!

Don't think this will make it to production. It looks too much like a 2 door Fusion. I think if they actual put this out there and they are so concerned of bringing back a nameplate. I have three suggestions, 1. Falcon 2. Edsel 3 Pinto, Cause what they are showing ain't no THUNDERBIRD PERIOD.

The article says that the design is not known. In other words, it could be anything. Most of today’s cars look alike. This would have been hyped everywhere if it was happening in 2021.

Agreed - no Ford car production for the foreseeable future. Also, the article is over a year old ... someone would have run with it (and production would have begun) if it were going to happen as a '21 model year entry.

I agree with Jay. If this was going to happen production would be starting up. The automotive news would have had it well covered by now, there would have been articles & photos in many publications. This will not be happening BUT I do not think Ford will let the trademark of Thunderbird disappear. I do believe it will rise again.

Word is that Lincoln is dead. The only "cars" Ford is making are Mustangs. Trucks and SUVs are Ford's future for the forseeable future IMO. That's where the $$$$ is. Japan, Korea and soon China will be fighting for the remainder of the "car" market. GM is also dropping model after model of their car production, if they could get away with it I think they would follow Ford's lead and just make Trucks, SUVs and Corvettes. Everybody needs an image vehicle. Chrysler has the Jeep but they too make their money on RAMs, not Dodges.

This is fake news, Ford has NO plans to bring back the Thunderbird at this time. And if they DID have plans to make a new Thunderbird we will know about it three or four YEARS before the vehicle hits the streets.

Just for giggles, enter any year, 2010 Ford Thunderbird (or 2018, 2019, 2020, etc) and see the results - often it is a warmed over Ford Fusion....
