Great post, Thanks. I watch Street Outlaws drag racing on the discovery channel every Monday. Drag racing has come a long way since the sixties. I raced my '62 corvette at the Laplace, La. and Biloxi, Miss. drag strips in 1966. Turned a 12 second quarter mile running B sports modified class. Not bad for a street racer in those days.

Greg.....did you drive for Dave Koffel? I use to hang out with him in the early 60's and he had two Flintstone Flyers. A 49 Packard and a 59 Lark. In 67 he also had a Barracuda Flintstone Flyer but by 63 I had left the scene for several years. When I got back in 67 he was racing altered wheelbase mopars. I traveled with my cousins for a while with their team The McKesson Bros. I ran into Dave several times until I left in 69 for good.

Ric mine was a 1960 Lark with an R2 motor..no relation. We raced the Brainard Raceway ..and RRValley. My car was painted Mustang orange..2 door hardtop..nice ride

That's interesting.....What years would that have been there. I was at Brainard and Red River several times in the 60's. Never saw you. This is the only Orange Lark I remember and coincidently it was named Flintstone Flyer. What class did you run?

My HS calculus teacher had a Lark. We would tease him without mercy about it.

Wheels up all over Fl. in early 60's.Mostly at old airbase training fields in WW II Mostly shade tree guys and Flagmen at both ends of the strip. Nobody will likely grow up in a better time than 50's - early 60's.
