After 14 years this is what the interior of the 03 (7 spoke) looks like, all four had the same aging erosion. E23ABE85-9254-4D51-B631-1ACEC9F64E47.jpeg

Issy I too went to the 5 spoke wheels using American Racing wheels. I've still got the original 7 spokes in excellent condition if any body needs a set...

If they make you happy that's all that is needed. I'll stick with the stock wheels.

Got the new rims and tires installed today, I do need to put some tire shine on the newer tires. B4A52AE0-8F2C-4270-8395-33C0FE472DDC.jpeg FE6AD381-CB83-43C7-86D5-D07073ACCA2E.jpeg

Three of my chrome wheels on the 03 are slow leaking constantly due to the inner rim edge eroding away. I know I can save them by sanding them down and have the installer bead them better, but I’ve decided to get new rims and tires. Found these on Tire Rack with a DFA3BC2D-C128-4D3B-BBDC-452509104657.jpeg 226C07CD-E805-40DB-AD8E-816663A39E0B.jpeg n offset of 52.5mm, that will give the car a new look. Stayed away from any offset of 40mm which is the vast majority of off market rims. The difference with these will be just .295 inches.

For tires I will stay with 50’s.

So the wheels you are looking at are 19 inch correct ? If you go to a 240x40x19 your overall diameter will be almost dead on 1 inch shorter than stock. Don't know if you would have width problems or not.

started a topic Tires and wheels

    Tires and wheels

I know over the years there have been discussions on this topic but don't recall any recently. I sold my PCR to my Grandson and he found a chrome spoke wheel he really likes. I like them too but they are 2 inches taller than factory.Fender height is 28 inches off the ground now withe factory rims. I'm not sure he can get a tire small enough in diameter to clear. Any thoughts or examples would be greatly appreciated. He is really into this car and while he wants to make a hew changes to make it his He doesn't want to do anything that can't be returned to original.
Working...
