If you have an Autozone, Advanced Auto, or probably any large auto parts store nearby they will read the engine code for you for FREE.

All our BIRds are money pits, some just more so than others!

Not all, mine has been trouble free. I will now go knock on some wood.

Whinnying noise, check engine light usually equals an air leak either at the air cleaner box or somewhere in the tubing & fittings hasn't been put back together properly.

Around 18K, Harry. Not even broken in yet but I’m stepping up the pace. Heading down to Tennessee next year.

Back from the mechanic shop , car read no codes but kept the engine warning light on display , mechanic was able to clear the system and now no more disturbing check engine on display , he suspect a false alarm and there is no more whinnying noise , go figure

You may have been hearing the power steering pump as you were being hyper-vigilant with the check engine light on.
