I also use Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w 30 . My car has no dipstick under the hood, but I can check the level on the dash cluster with a bunch of other informational data.

New Hondas recommend 0w 16

0 w 16. That would require very tight mechanical engine tolerances which I think Honda is capable of delivering.

What I have learned about synthetic oil is that it's good for engines that may sit idle for extended periods of time.
Therefore, I use it in the Thunderbird, lawn mowers, ATVs, etc. It will stick to surfaces longer than conventional oil.
I have had no issues.

In 2003 I asked this question to the VP of quality on the Thunderbird project. His answer was synthetic blend. When I asked what he would use in a retro Tbird that he owned he said 100% synthetic

What part of Tbird quality, interior appearance or exterior look?.

I would ask the Ford engine designers about the oil.
We need to locate a retired Ford Engine designer, probably living in sunny Florida.
