  • Thunderbird NHTSA Full-Overlap Frontal Crash Test, and NHTSA MDB Side Crash Test

It's fascinating to watch these things. With the taller trucks now, I wonder if the results would be different.

    Don't try this at home.

I think it's quite impressive how the 'Bird reacted to be hit from front and side. I don't have a sense of what the
sensors from the "passengers" endured, but the car's body intrusion from the strikes is minimal. Air bags looked
good, but the "dummy's" headache is almost palpable.
    Now when you're feelin' low
    And the fish won't bite
You need a little bit o' soul
    To put you right

Somehow the driver survived this. Today’s car are marvelous works of engineering.

Amazingly lucky, not to mention good engineering. Thanks for sharing, Gene!
Here's a screen grab, but please look at the video clip, it's impressive:

Remember to always buckle up. It’s an integral part of the system. Without the belt that airbag will tear you up.

I'm not sure about what all went on. However, I'm very glad no Merlots were injured in the process.

Excuse me, I didn't realize you were going to park there.

Makes me wish my airbag light would stay off! Luckily it's the only light on
