  • Loss of power plus higher rpms before shift

05 here, 44k, driven fairly regularly. Runs fine around town but when I accelerate hard it seems to have lost some power and the engine overevs before shifting. I see 6500 rpms before shifting to next gear. Never have seen that before. It sounds funny too, much louder than normal. No check engine or any other lights on dashboard. Coils have been replaced some time ago. What do you think?

If it's a late hard shift from 2-3 and sometimes can't decide on a gear

      1. Transmission valve body
      2. Transmission rebuild
      3. Bad PCM

sometimes just having the dealer flash the PCM and transmission can correct it.

The important part is correct diagnosis so you don't replace the wrong thing

I had a similar issue with my 05 and had the solenoid pack replaced, problem solved.

Well, after after the OBD showed no codes, I simply disconnected the battery for about an hour. Went for a drive and all was black to normal. Amazing.
