    all new suspension, but seems unusually harsh ride

      All stock everything at Ford dealer about 3500.00

        My WAG is that your older suspension had gone soft and the new suspension brought it back to the original ride specs. An upgrade to a more "sporty", stiffer suspension could give a stiffer ride, but that's not the case here.

                Check your tire pressure. It may sound like it's too simple a thing, but it could contribute to a harsh ride. Lowering the tire pressure within acceptable range could soften the ride for you.

                  Lower air pressure may help, but it could be the tires. Usually the age of the tires effect their ride more than mileage. Also some brands, like michelin (IMHO) are a stiffer, harder ride. I changed to goodyear eagles from michelin sports for a better ride.
                  Our T-birds were never known as a hard riding, race track handling sports car but more as a boulevard cruiser.
