As far as colors go... I've seen here, over and over, that those who are patient and look around enough can eventually buy the color of retro T-Bird that they want most. That's what I did. I bought the color I wanted most. Didn't we all do that?

... except, of course, those who had to settle for something other than a black t-bird. I don't blame you for your jealousy though. I'd be jealous too if I were you. What with the special 7-spoke chrome wheels, the rare matching black hardtop complete with portholes, the color-coded matching trim, the matching black tires and wiper blades... even the special matching black soot on the tips of my Borlas... it's truly a special t-bird. No other like it. Not to me at least. Isn't that the real point?

My Ford dealer said "i can have can have it in any color as long as it was black"

Was reading the life story of Henry Ford this week, and the reason he changed the color to black only for the tin lizzie (prior to that, it had also been offered in red), is because black dried faster and allowed them to turn out more units! ...I didn't know that.

I laugh every time I recall the time a couple of years ago that my ex-husband called me from Houston and proudly announced that he had seen "an orange one".

I'll ask again. Does anyone know where #700 is?

I'm probably wrong....I think I heard on a different site that the daughter of the President of Ford got that car. Or maybe it was the last T-bird made. Some woman, somewhere has the last of some kind of t-bird.
                      How's that? lol

As usual, Dot comes through with the answer to the last Thunderbird.
                        http://www.portholeauthority.com/the...astt-bird.html
Seeing that it was not a 007 it might not belong on this thread, however, Dot also has some fine information on the 007 including the fact that the numbers produced were out of sequence even though all 700 were built. So #700 wasn't necessarily the last 007 built. I didn't see on there were #700 is or what number was the last one.

This car is so rare that we don't know who has #001,#002,#003,#004, ......................hell I ain't gonna to list all the 007 numbers. We do have a bunch of James Bond 007 Coral oweners here. Good question........."who has #700" or who has "#007/700"?

                            Kent...see y'all at Pappasito's in 2008.

Seems all of the special edition Birds were built out of sequence (PCR's, 007's, Cashmeres, etc.). While the badge (like my Cashmere) might say #467, it may have actually been the 25th one built! Go figure!
