I stumbled across this image on the web.

Frits...it looks like it has those side markers that you needed.

Per www.kruse.com: 2004 Ford Thunderbird – This vehicle was featured in the movie “Thunderbirds.” The fabulous pink Thunderbird was created by Ford for this movie.

It does Gene. But these are orange. Mine had to be white.

Not orange. They would have to be amber in the US.
I'd like a pair on my 'Bird, but they'd be right above the V8 symbol & it would look a bit too busy there.

I still haven't watched the movie but someone who did, said the pink bird was not in it so it seems that it was painted that color as a promotional for the movie.

Frits, Is there a reason they have to be up so high, can't they follow the same line as the front and back side lights?

Law indicates they have to be within 40cm (15 inches) of the widest part of the car. Since that is the mirror it does not leave much options. that is why most car manufacturers have the blinkers installed in the mirror.

Hi there,

Growing up in Britain I was a great fan of the original 'THUNDERBIRDS' tv series. This was the one where all the actors were wooden string puppets.

In this series, Lady Penelope rode in a pink custom outrageous looking Rolls Royce always driven by her faithful driver, Parker. The lisence plate was FAB 1. I know that back in the 60's, fab was a very 'in' word along with groovy and other words like that.

However, when used in the series it was a sign off on the communication gadgets used by all the Tracy family and it was actually spelt out, F-A-B, similar to 10-4 or Roger and out, etc...

Does anyone know what F-A-B actually stood for? My guess is 'Fast and Blonde', refering to Lady Penelope in her pink Rolls Royce. She was after all very glamorous considering she was made of solid wood.

FAB from the TV show "Thunderbirds" stood for
"Full Acknowledgement of Braodcast."
Gerry Anderson, the producer of "Thunderbirds" was known for these obscure catch phrases. In another series "Captain Scarlet" he usied SIG which stood for "Spectrum Is Green" They both meant roughly," ten-four", "I copy" and "roger that."

I'd forgotten about Thunderbirds show, cool airplanes, right? On the farm in Kansas growing up, we only had two channels, this one and that one, so it was on one when we could get it.

From what I've read, there were two painted that color - they are repaints- one of them was sold at auction a couple of years ago here in the states. Don't know anything about the 2nd or even if it exists.

This fabulous Pink Thunderbird was created by Ford Motor Company for use in the Movie "Thunderbirds". This Fab 9 Thunderbird was built by Ford for the 2004 Universal Studio’s “Thunderbirds” movie. It is the only one of its kind. The paint is signature PINK. The Fab 9 has 700 miles on it now and I have the documentation from Ford and many movie items that come with the car.
