As an add +++ to changing the battery my tranny is shifting smoother.Must have relearned the shift points when it was reconnected .Doesn't lag when downshifting 3-2 when turning a corner.Use to drive me nuts when hitting the gas and it seemed to just take a gulp of air and do nothing.
Leroy, when it comes in in a day or so I'll take the old one along and be sure it's like the original. If not I won't except it. I will also be posting something in the garage section of the forum on what is involved in changing it out along with pics of the change over.
Got the New Battery and have it installed. I'll post installation instructions later in the Thunderbird Garage. Here is a pic of what I paid. The dealer had to order it and didn't have it in stock but it is a fresh battery labled 12/08. If anyone needing one of these, I would question your dealer if they come up with a price higher then this one. I did drop off the old one at the same time and installed it myself but what some have been paying is wayyy out of line according to what I paid.
Battery died today in my 04. Purchased 84 month replacement from O'Reily Auto parts for $92.99 since the Ford dealership is closed on Sundays. Super Start Extreme 65EXTN fits perfectly with the posts and vent in the correct place. Took just a few moments to change. Sure is nice to have a clean battery out of the trunk rather that one from under the hood.
