  • Took the Tbird to go Vote

What a beautiful day here on Election Day in Northern Indiana, just outside of Chicago. It's over 70 deg. and not a cloud in the sky. My wife left early and voted on her way to work and then called me and said she got right in without much of a wait. When I got outside I decsided I had to drive the Tbird today. First I went to one of my favorate diners and had a big breakfast, I hate to vote on a empty stomach. Then it was off to the Poles, ours is at a local church in our neighborhood. The parking lot wasn't full at all. There were only a few people ahead of me, so I was in and out in about 10 minutes. When I walked out ther were about 5 people standing around my car looking at it. When I got in it one man said it was the first time he had ever seen a two tone TBird, and I said " Yea! It didn't come from the factory this way ". I love my MSG hardtop on my Black Bird. Live is good. God Bless America. Get out and VOTE. Leroy

Couldn't drive the bird today.... It's raining in Virginia. Very long lines at the poles in Stafford.

I also drove the Bird to the polling place just as I did in '04, '06, and the last primaries.

I drove my bird (top dpwn) and voted. We are in a small town and there was no line. I just had to spend the rest of the afternoon driving around and shopping. I feel like i'm real close to putting NHRedBird up for the winter so every nice day is a plus. Here's hoping for a short winter.

I drive the Bird everywhere I go. Almost time for 80,000 mile service, a couple hundred miles to go.

Re: Took the Tbird to go Vote

Here in Washington State all but two counties vote by mail-in or use drop-off boxes at the county auditor's offices. Very convient, no lines. Our ballets are sealed in a double envelope. The outside envelope has a bar code, individualized to each citizen. The bar code is scanned which brings up on a screen and matched to the voter's signiture from the days when we had to sign in registar's book. If there is a match the ballot is processed. If no match then phone number that the voter has to also put on the envelop is called and told their ballot is no good and to report to the nearest auditor's office to correct the problem.

The second envelope contains the ballot, it is opened by two individuals sitting side by side. They review the ballot for correctness of filling in the boxes and then tally the vote.
