Some months ago we took the Tbird to our usual dealership for service just a routine oil change. When it was ready the service rep said that the rear suspension needed replacement & that there was a leak coming from the transmission & that a diagnostic test was required to determine the cause. This dealership had a service manager that was like Cruella Deville & all of the service reps were leaving. The guy I had dealt with for several years finally left. We had problems with them before from the replacement of the
s to work being done on our other car(yes I drive the old Chevy Cavalier). I knew of another dealship on the other side of the highway about the same distance from our house. I thought this was the time for a second opinion. The next oil change I made an appointment to bring her in & have them look at the suspension & the transmission. This dealer was much nicer & has a window where you could look into the service area. I asked to have a look & see the problem areas for myself. They showed me the worn suspension parts & said that the tranny looked fine & that it was nothing to be concerned about. I change the oil on or before every 3,000 miles & decided to bring it in then. To cut to the chase here I brought it in at the last oil change. I told the Hector the service rep I wanted to see the old parts & have the car put on the lift so I could inspect the work. Scott who was the mechanic showed were he had put in new parts & that the car looked in good shape. I survived cancer almost 4 years ago by getting a second opinion after my diagnosis & going to a Cancer Hospital. As for the suspension my wife & I think it drives like the day we picked her up 3 years ago.
