Don't know if anyone posted this before,a good tip for us Southern drivers and North in the summer.We all get spattered with bugs while driving and if they bake on they can be a problem .To remove them use a "Bounce" fabric softner.Wet it and rub they come right off.Just tried it after a 400+ trip and it made clean-up easy.

Before going on a trip, mix a spray bottle of Johnson's Baby Oil and water, 50%/50%. Shake and spray front bumper and lower hood. You'll get very few if any bugs and the few you may get rinse right off with a hose. Have to do this twice a year when those sticky "Love Bugs" are out here in Florida. It doesn't damage paint surface and creates slippery surface that bugs won't stick to.

This makes more sense to me. I know the fabric sheets mar the finish if you get a little aggressive with the rubbing. I detailed a few cars that have had this problem

Bugs? We don't have bugs. It's too hot here in the summer. They go north for the summer. lol

We tried PAM spray once on our 57 when we were traveling in Florida/Louisiana as suggested by a native we were traveling with - never again - took me 3 days to get it all off once we got home - the spray had cooked on. We just keep it waxed, and wash in the evenings when bugs are a problem on a trip.

Mike M when I used it there is a solution coming out of the Bounce when wet that makes it slide easy.Were not talking about wet sanding you would have to be pretty rough to scratch a finish.JMO.Ken I don't know about that 50/50 deal .I could just see those suckers flipping over the windshield with the top down after sliding off the front.
