  • Re: 2009 T-Bird sightings

I was at the Farm Fresh last night in Elizabeth City and spotted a platinum bird that I have seen around town pull into the parking lot. As soon as she parked, I went over to introduce myself. Dawn is the car's second owner. Her car is a 2005, anniversary edition. She doesn't have a hard top but is on the lookout for one. I told her all about this group and she seemed thrilled to find out about us. Hopefully she'll join us.

On Rt 2/4 between Prince Frederick and Solomons IY / Black Hardtop southbound, we waved but couldn't tell if they returned the favor (we had the top down) about 1:30PM 20 minutes later a MSG with hardtop about 15 miles further west

Not so much a "sighting" as a revelation..........Here in New Hampshire we park cars we care about during the winter.
How-ever......snow and salted roads have been gone for over 1 month now and I'm yet to see a Thunderbird other than my own, my wife's or the silver one a neighbor down the street has.
It's still early in the season but last year I'd seen 4 or 5 by now. Color me surprised and wondering where the others are hiding.

A Torch Red with black soft top was off highway 80 East bound heading towards Sacramento California.

I drove by, but could not find the driver.Hope everything is OK.

Saw a Torch red without the hardtop on yesterday at 132nd & Dodge in Omaha. Thought of Ted right away & wondered if it was him.

Missed he opportunity to meet up with a couple Nebraska birds on Friday night in Lincoln. Glad that they both contacted me and we will all see each other soon. Me birdless for a few more weeks, so it will be great to see another Merlot & Black bird.

saw a Thunderbird Blue heading north on the Garden State Parkway this morning near Hazlet. Plate was BluByrd. thought it looked familiar but couldn't find it in member directory. (in case plate was same as signature)
Hope it got home before the rain.

Friday, 4/17 in Lemont, IL. I was in my black 50th, came to the intersection of Rt. 83 and Main. Looking right at me was a Yellow TBird. Made my left turn right in front of the Yellow, both waved as we went on our way.

I saw a movie over the weekend called Good Luck Chuck. He has a B*E*A*U*T*I*F*U*L baby bird that he drives. There is a moment in the movie that will make you cringe when Jessica Alba wants to turn on the heater

I find that when I wave to some of them...they look at me crazy like I have pie on my face.

Yesterday was a great day for me; I got to see two T-Birds in the same day. Here we can go months even in the summer with out seeing a Bird. Saw a Black with Black conv. northbound on I-5 north of Bellingham WA. Then later going to Anacortes spotted a Merlot with Merlot hard top. In both cases didn't have a chance to wave as we were on a divided highway with heavy traffic and speed, both were almost across from me by the I spotted them.

I saw my first local Desert Sky Blue since we got rid of ours 4 years ago. I wonder if it's our old one.

It was truly a top-down day here in Tidewater, so Goldi & I went out shopping (for CBT)...saw a Platinum, Torch Red, and Black - all topless. No one waved, though! All were spotted on Va Beach Blvd near Town Center.
