    Re: Celebrity T-birds

On Saturday's episode (#13 - 2009) of My Classic Car they reviewed a Battery Tender and Dennis Gage had his 2002 Thunderbird Blue in the shop to demonstrate installation on. Here's a link to the episode (sorry, I couldn't get just a pic linked) - http://www.myclassiccar.com/episode/13/13/ . Maybe not an A-List celeb, but ranks high up there on the list for car nuts.

Dennis is a TBird guy, regardless of the vintage. He has mentioned this on the show numerous times.

Good find there Kevin. This will be helpful to those out there who don't drive their Bird but occasionally.

My Classic Car has a video on the web with the 02 blue advertising the battery tender that they showed on that episode.

Guy is a Sacramento personality but even more interesting is the 8 minute clip he is on.

That segment on My Classic Car has been on before. Althought the events he visits are new, some of the 'information' segments, such as the Battery Tender, are repeats. This one is at least a year old I think.

No, it would have been harsh if you had also pointed out that her co-anchor, Guy, so emphatically stated that his Thunderbird was
                            " G u n n n M e t t t t a l l G r r r e e y ! ! ! "

I guess it could have been repainted, but it sure looked like MSG

                              Dot,

I am not where to post my question. I this thread I found that the 55,56,57 Tbirds came with Hard Top and Soft Top.

The 56 Tbird I purchased for $2,200 in 1961 came only with a hard Top. The Hard Top had no port hole.

Do you supose I should have gotten the soft top with the car?

The red one used on the Oprah show a few years ago ended up coming from a local Ford dealer in Chicago.

originally, the 55-57 came with one top - you could order it with either a hard top or a softtop at no extra cost but if you wanted both hard and softtops, you had to pay extra for the soft top. Very few came with both tops.

Our57 originally came with hardtop and a tonneau cover. Eventually original owner bought a softtop for it. When we bought it, the hardtop with it was for a 55 - don't know what happened to the original hardtop but the first owner had had two fender benders with the car.
