  • How do I love my Thunderbird?

Let me counts the ways. Just an errand tonight. My wife needed to drop off a check for the "blue bamboo" we ordered and at 7:30pm instead of saying "let it go till tommorrow" I said let's do it!
    35 miles round trip.
I just love driving this car, traffic OK, alone OK, to San Diego (150 miles)OK, The CD is great for me (my hearing is gone on the top end). topup, top down, hard top on .. it's all great. In South California at least, nobody notices this car much, fine with me. It must be the universe co-ordinates aligning but for me, at this time, a black 2002 tbird is my chariot of fire.
Gone is the Miata of crippled testosternome, gone is the Allante of old man repair phobias, welcome the retro T birds and #%&$@*, the COPS all of them.. Jon

It is the only car I have ever owned that when I park it I always turn around and give it at least one parting glance ...

I do the same thing, Joe; the parting glance. Sometimes I can't believe how in love with this car I am.

... more than words can say. Certainly, more than any other car I've ever owned.
Coming in 2nd was my '66 all White Grand Prix, with Black leather interior - last of the big models.

Well said Jon! I agree 100%. Any small reason or sometimes no reason to drive the T-Bird is good enough to get me going.

Joe is right on! I can't walk away from the T-bird without looking back.

I think all my stars are aligned perfectly and all is right with the world when I'm cruising in the T-Bird.

This morning I was having breakfast at the Loganville Waffle House and "Pretty Bird" was parked out front.

It stood out more than the minus signs on my IRA account.

I watched as many heads turned to look out the window, including mine.

You're right! You can never get tired of admiring this car.

I feel your pain Bob. High here yesterday was 87! It's a little cooler today, only 85 - about time to remove the hard top.:sun:

Because of my Thunderbird, I find myself filled with love for the whole world. I now pat grubby children on their grubby little heads. I no longer kill mosquitoes. I straighten up crumpled weeds in the sidewalk cracks. I let dogs sniff my ankles (and, well, you know). I line up the bars of soap on the shelves at Wal-Mart. The world is mine, and I am its, and I love it. Maybe this is a way of saying that I love my car a whole world's worth!

                            Did I misinterpret this thread?

I thought Jon just became the newest member of the Bad COP Club.......(?)

I cried while telling the lady at the insurance company that someone had put a big dent in the side of my car. She was so nice, she just kept saying "I can tell how much you love your car, I'm so sorry this happened." Which makes you feel even worse. Someone suggested that maybe I shouldn't love my car so much -- like bad things happen when you like a material thing too much -- but how do you do that with this car!!?? Outsiders just don't understand....
