    Re: Help.....

I know, I know...What does my repair job have to do with anything ! that Bruce is going through? Only that acetone does remove paint if applied carefully and not excessively.Joe 166 mentioned this in above post # 10.

If you're talking about the inside of the wheel well liners, that surrounds the tire, rather that the body paint, just remove the tire and spray over it it with some flat-black spray paint. Simply and quick.......

To do it correctly, make sure you do it in a 'clean room.' Otherwise, it will not be the same as original from the factory.

Try using Prep Sol. This is a solvent that the body shops use prior to painting a car. I have used it to remove mass areas of tar and spray paint off cars without damaging the paint. Essentially, it is a mild form of laquer thinner and should be treated as such.

Please keep in mind that it will remove all wax and debris from the paint surface. Also, when you apply it using a soft cloth, be sure to wear protective gloves and rotate the cloth frequently. Wipe again with a clean soft cloth, wash the area, dry, and be sure to re-wax.

I heard WD 40 will take off fresh paint and will not damage the original finish.

all quite true except not from Fish oil! Also I find that on aluminum windows where there is condensation the WD 40 coated spots will mould! I use Jig-a loo http://www.jigaloo.com/ca/e_home.php

            WD 40 who knew!!

Check out this tire inflation tip!

Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for A rust preventative solvent and de greaser to protect Missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three Technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in20WD-40 that would hurt you...' IT IS MADE FROM FISH OIL' When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It is a miracle! Then try it on your stovetop... It is now shinier than it has ever been before.
