By golly you're right, Jer. There is no difference. Thanks for setting me straight. I should have known that when Leroy made his post he was using upgrade/add-on to both mean: to raise to a higher grade or standard; to improve the quality. I owe Leroy an apology.

Not trying to set anyone straight.

It's a good looking..............................modification to the original factory design.

      How's that?

Ditto Ray. Bob, I also get the same reaction when people see the interior. They go WOW.

Ray, You don't owe me any apology. Everyone has a right to express an opinion. My opinion is this plastic stick-on stuff that's sold out there is junk. Leroy

                    Re: Wood Trim upgrade

Well I'll be adding another "custom touch" to my T-Bird.(Upgrade Add on bad words)
Just ordered the same kit as Doug installed, price is up a few bucks $132.60 but shipping
is free. To improve on the cars appearance this has to be the biggest bang for the buck.

I also have that same kit on my 03 . Never had any problems and have had many positive compliments . Makes my saddle interior pop ! When I bought my bird , I had my choice of one totally stock with 22,000 miles , or the one I bought with the custom trim , K&N typhoon cold air intake , magnaflow exhaust , SCT Xcal tuner with 18,000 mi . Both cars were Black with saddle trim and the same price . As my intent is to drive the car it was not really a hard choice . BUT ..... if my intent was to have a trailer queen , or to try to have a collecter car I would have chose the stock one . To each his own and I think there is a place for both . IMHO !

Allen, do you have any pictures of the kit with saddle?

I am pleased to see that you all are so happy with the least expensive of all the kits out there. I haven't done it yet (but i think it's a great look) mostly because I can afford $125 but not TBC's price. I thought I'd be putting junk on my beutiful bird

Although I've done this "upgrade" a couple of years ago. I'm still very happy with it and never regretted it. When I see the stock dash in another T-Bird, it looks quite bland compared to mine. (Yeah, it might be "junk" to some "purists", but it's my car... )
I went with a "titanium burlwood" kit from www.wooddashexperts.com and couldn't be more satisfied. Below are a few pictures...

This is the kit I have. I think it blends in perfectly with the interior and does a great job dressing up an otherwise blah dash.
