A green eye indicates that the battery is charged and has electrolyte fluid. A dark eye indicates that the battery has enough fluid but the charge is not significant. A yellow eye indicates that the battery does not have enough charge or fluid.

Even a "professional" battery tester won't necessarily reveal trouble. I just had a problem with a battery in our other car. The car wouldn't turn over, so I took it back to the place where I bought the battery 18 months ago. Their tester showed no problems. They charged it up and away I went.
Two days later, wouldn't turn over again. I used my charger that will show any shorts or open cell faults. Showed OK. Charging system tested OK.
I left the battery disconnected, and the next day it was down. It simply stopped holding a charge despite showing no internal faults.
Got the battery swapped out under the 3-year free replacement warranty and have had no problems since.

Joel, do you park outside? I know you're closer to the water than me, but I checked mine & it is pristine & I've never cleaned it. The car will be 5 yrs old Aug 16.

I do park outside at night, but in a closed garage every day during the day. I don't think it was that, I think it was just maybe a loose connection. I have never had this problem with any of my other cars, but then again, none of them were so annoying to reach the battery in.
