Sounds like it was a great trip. Too bad we didn't know you were in Nashville. We're getting ready for our trip to Nova Scotia. There's nothing like a great road trip.

Brian says we went to 22 states on this trip. He would know as he was the navigator.

After 10,900 miles I drove to Home Depot today and got a flat tire! I was able to change it in my garage and inflate the spare with my air pump to the 60psi it requires. Wow, God sure looked out for me on this trip. When I think of all the places I could have gotten a flat, it really makes me grateful.

Cal, you just needed to come 50 miles north of Sallisaw and you could have stayed with us for a lot less, ha!

Sounds like a whale of a trip - we are looking forward to our trip to Nova Scotia, just as much as you were to your yours, I'm sure. The days are clicking down pretty fast at this point.

Maybe next year or the year after we are going to make a trip like yours out west. We can't wait to color in the rest of those states on our map.

Cal sounds like you had a great trip--one place to stayed is where I worked in the summer of 0-five-- I drove the Red Buses in Glacier Park and work out of Lake MacDonald Lodge.
I am looking forward to our roar trip to Nova Scotia-- we leave in about 23 days!!!!

Bill, In 2002 Ford Motor company rebuilt the historic red "Jammer" buses on the Van E450 chasiss, used the 5.4L LPG propane engine. The original 1936/1937 dies from White automotive were used and upgraded. The convertible top feature still remains.
When we were there the "Going to the Sun" road was closed due to snow drifts.

Bill knows all about those busses. He drove one in 2005. Here's Bill and I putting the top on his bus after the last run of the day. He was a great host and a terrific guide. Bill was even able to get us a last minute reservation in one of the cabins. Jeannie and I had a great time with him in Glacier.

I did look up Tahlequah when we got to Sallisaw after discovering how limited the rooms were that night. We even thought of driving on to the next town, Henryetta. But then we found a room at the Super 8. It turned out the night we got to Sallisaw, there was a Jehovah's Witness convention in town, taking all the available nice rooms. Oh well, we survived.

We would have been happy to put you up for the night.

I got the idea for my map from Bill (15AGAIN) and fortunately it is pretty low tech since I have rather limited computer skills. We just took the attached image and used "Paint" to color in the states that we have been to in our T-birds. Then we resized it to avatar size. I'm sure there are fancier ways to do it.

I've been retired since January of '05, Brian since March of '07 so we didn't miss any work. We did get out of a lot of "Honey do's" though. Since both are wives were home, the most asked question was "How did you get them to let you do this?"

For an avatar map that you can color in each state you visisted, you can go to this website: www.mytriplogs.com

At that website, color in the states that you visited and save the image to your PC. Then reduce the image to 25% of the original size. Use the reduced size image as your avatar.
