Mark said he was looking for a new mod and I gave him one option that did not agree with him, although he is really into Betty Boop.

And I quote from Mark: "And now for something completely different"

Can anyone else come up with ideas for Mark's new mod? Monty Python style....

I must say this thread has been very entertaining... guess someone will have to come up with another new idea, and start this discussion ALL OVER AGAIN !!!

Hmmm.. I have been thinking of "And now for something completely different"... (a quote for the Monty Python fans)..... but it's just an idea at this time... we'll see if my idea gets beyond the design and prototype phase.....

Here you go Mark for another mod idea. You want something different, Monty Style.

You can call it the Betty Boop hardtop mod.

You go first. Then post a new thread. We will have lots of fun on that thread I am sure.

I think that if it was a Chrome Hardtop Mark might have a go at it!

I was watching Car Crazy on Saturday morning and they were at the SEMA show in vegas. They were showing a new paint that when applied over white appears as chrome, after that they clear coat it which makes it look like shiney chrome.

Now that is something Mark might go for! BLING!!!!!

Steve, some people have no style sense at all! Red Polka-dot hardtop on a blue car seems like quite a cool thing to do (to MARK's car that is)!

Perhaps we can sneak into his garage one night and make it happen since he didn't alarm the garage yet!

Gordy, I just got home from work and read this post. Now let's get things straight - firstly, I had my whole house alarmed including the NEST.. BECAUSE of Bling Bird... silly guy... didn't you notice that flashing light on the ceiling next to Betty Boop?? Secondly, nobody mentioned polka-dots... that gets me thinking.. OK, maybe not - it was a long day.

You guys break me up... I thought of you all this past weekend when the BBQ ran out of gas !!!

If you look at Steve's rendition of your car more closely you will see that the roof is actually red with pink polka-dots. A really nice look for Ottawa at this time of the year.

That red light flashing next to Betty Boop? I thought perhaps she had taken up a new career and was advertising her job as a professional... aw, er.....Escort.....yeah, Escort that's it!

You see if you put a red top with pink polka-dots on Bling, it would be a further deterant to anyone wanting to steal her!

Besides, where are you going to find a car thief who would be willing to take his shoes off before entering your garage? LOL

OK... now I see the dots... and I think I am seeing them even on my engine chrome ...

My good buddy Gord - you and all other TBNers will indeed be welcome in Ottawa for next year's show... thinking of a catchy new title.. something like Ottawa Thunder 2... or the Sequel... or whatever....

And you are right Steve... I am always open to mods... because mods never end !!!

Here is a new BLING for you Mark.

Try and find a chrome ring for the lower front lights on our birds. You can buy them for dozens of cars and trucks out there but can't seem to find something for ours. Some even extend out and would almost give it the 55-57 bullet look.

I am toying with the idea of applying the 5/8th's chrome in the bumper channels front and back....just a thought but it might look pretty cool.

Here is a couple more ideas for mods for you.

The first is paint it with a Comeleon paint that changes color from Thunderbird Blue to 70's Mopar Green.



The other mod is Vertical doors. Be the first on the block with this one.

With all this talk of adding extra chrome, I'm just wondering if anyone as gone the opposite way. Honestly, if I was to pick one thing that I'm not keen on, it's the large amount of chrome on the windshield surround. I have a black retro and I'm thinking it would look good with that windshield surround sprayed Evening Black to match the bodywork.

Anyone done this yet in black or any other color for that matter?
