    Gordon,
Try some black, low tack vinyl shelf covering to see if you like it. It comes in high gloss or flat finish. I tend to agree that less chrome suits the bird. Although I think the rear is a little stark without it.

Looks pretty good in yellow on a yellow car. Course,it would look a lot better in black on a black car, ha,ha...

This reminds of a picture I saw somewhere of an Evening Black and because of the light effect at the time, the chrome wheels appeared to have a black finish as well. That also might be a nice mod for a black car. Black or maybe a gunmetal look...

        Gordon.

Are we talking about Dido, the British singer?

I reckon she might look nice perched on the fins, ha, ha...

Nix on the fins but the frenched headlights don't look too bad, but looking at the windshield painted body color sort of reminds me of a Chrysler Neon or Honda Civic..........Yuk!

              This Gordon
              Does love chrome (Bling).

Drive it like you stole it !!!

Mark could go with this. I did it and am very happy with the way it turned out.

With all this talk of adding extra chrome, I'm just wondering if anyone as gone the opposite way. Honestly, if I was to pick one thing that I'm not keen on, it's the large amount of chrome on the windshield surround. I have a black retro and I'm thinking it would look good with that windshield surround sprayed Evening Black to match the bodywork.

If you wanted to do this it could be free or in expensive. Sell your good chrome surround here on site to someone who may have a pitted set. Take the $$ and trade-in surround from them, so you can have the pitted ones fixed and painted. - Just a thought.

Steve, That mod doesn't lower your car one bit, just looks that way. And it hides the body weldment along the rocker panel.

How about some Hemi Traction Bars, They do come in Bling Chrome...

P.S. Might need some air shocks to go with them. That is what I had on my 1974 Monte Carlo with the bars, air shocks pressured up 4 or 5 inches higher at the back, Chrome outsider exhaust between the front and back wheels, and wide slicks on the back. Almost every time I went to town, you can almost count on COP problems more than what our cars have...

My good buddy Gord - you and all other TBNers will indeed be welcome in Ottawa for next year's show... thinking of a catchy new title.. something like Ottawa Thunder 2... or the Sequel... or whatever....

And you are right Steve... I am always open to mods... because mods never end !!!
                            Mark!
Sounds great! Now if only the weather would co-operate with nice sunny warm days! :sun:

Can you put your order in early?

One other thing is if the weather is good you could lead us for a Sunday morning "Capital Tour" during the Tulip Festival. I know the ladies would like that.
Perhaps cruise along the Rideau Canal up to the Houses of Parliment then to the P.M.'s residence and have the Prime Minister come out and greet us. (Who ever the heck that will be by then?) I gather you have great infuence in political circles in the nations capital?

We could all bring a fresh propane tank to make sure the burgers are cooked through. That is if you don't have natural gas by then! But, then again maybe you already have natural gas. =Toot!
I am looking forward to it and i am sure a good time will be had by all!

If it rains all weekend again, we can call it the Thunder Blunder!

                            Gord

Gord, I am already setting about plans for next year's show here in government town.... we can only hope the weather acts more like it is lately in Ottawa - sun, sun, sun !!! Also, thought I would buy a 3rd propane tank !!!! Regarding a cruise through the tulip festival - that's a very good idea - let me see what I can do - maybe we could call the event "Thunder in the Tulips"... or "Tulip-Birds in Ottawa".... then again, maybe not...
