I am interested in buying a retro-bird. At some point after this site has educated me sufficiently, I will take the plunge. I just learned today about C.O.P.S and other things to look for when buying a bird.

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hi David -

Be leery of any "GREAT DEAL" on a Bird with very high mileage. Be suspicious that it was traded or sold because it was presenting problems. Check Carfax. Try to learn the identity of the previous owner, so that you can inquire about its history.

Be prepared to spend around $20,000. And be prepared to have a really fun time owning it and cruising in it. Welcome to the group and good luck in your search. You won't regret it.

            Welcome to TBN, Dave.

Living in New England, you have a lot of help right in your back yard. The New England Chapter of TBN is a great group of folks that will make you feel as welcome as long lost family. We were lucky enough to hang out with them when we were up that way last month and had a great time.

By the way, just in case you haven't read it anywhere else on the site - RED T-birds are the fastest!

Dave, tell us a bit about your '66 Bird, if you own one. Or is that your age ?
