This is it 6600 miles. Great price for being bought at a Mecum Auction. Maybe our Birds are starting to hold their value.

        Seriously?!?

Wow, that seems awfully high. I'm not saying it's not worth it mind you ;) That just seems high.

Makes me feel better about my purchase a month ago (tho I wasn't feeling bad about it anyways)

        :D

Ah...sorry, I originally read that to be 66,000 miles... 6000 miles, I can sort of see the price reasoning there.

Dave -- What shape was that E Code Bird in? That seems VERY low for an E Code Bird.

I saw the auction too. The E Bird was in fair shape.

That's what I figured too. Thought it would be one of the highlights of the evening. The owner even said it was a "Senior" National winner. The lead guy there talked him into the lower price acceptance. 3 People were bidding on it seriously. The guy must have really needed the money. I "think" his reserve was $65K, but the auctioneer lead guy kept the pressure on him at the end, and it surely looked like he would have gotten $60. But then the bidding went stone cold dead.

Seems pretty high to me. Low mileage Retro-Birds are going for much lower prices here in New England.

Now......for the real question that comes to mind in that photo. Very cool Chevelle Convert in that picture too. The cowl induction hood suggests something might be special about that particular survivor.

                    Any info on that car?

Steve, that 70 Chevelle Conv is a SS clone. 396/350 and it did not sell. Still available if your interested.

No........not worth the trip. The idea of a "clone" doesn't make it either.

I can appreciate the idea of putting together something truly unusual and impossible to find but this car doesn't really rise to that description.

Still, I have to admit it did catch my eye so the builder wasn't entirely unsuccessful.
