Romancing the Thunderbird

Hi all!

What says the preacher? "Vanity of vanities, vanity of vanities, all is vanity". Oy veh! just over a fortnight and a half ago, acquired a compelling gem of a car: a multi-faceted 2005 Ford Thunderbird, 50th anniversary, torch red, full red accent, performance white hard top, SST xmission, 16 spoke machined aluminum wheels. This neo classic has loggued a stingy 1270 miles, and yet has the peel-off protection upon the logo of the V-8 engine cover! All this to bring a bit of joy and smiles to the faces of many, and some happy conversation too (not to mention a very exciting ride!).

The absolute top of the line perfect repro Tbird. Now make sure you don't drive it and ruin it. You now have the responsibility to keep this one as pristine as it is forever and ever. Good for you, glad it's not me.

Just over a year ago, when no sooner did I acquire the pampered 2002 Thunderbird blue, than I began to want to learn everything I could about our retro-birds, and thanks to Dot's website for making that easy. As soon as I found out that Ford upped the HP on the later models, I just had to have one so I set out on my quest:

O.K. so here is a first peek at the almost new driving machine. The digital camera is not my forte'...the results of the "Torch Red" on my first digital photos kind of turned out like a 007, so...will have to practice a bit more to see if I can work with the lighting, or perhaps take an outdoor shot...or get some help from my daughter!

I Was at a Local Gourmet Grocery Store Today and There Was a Beautiful 02 EB in the Parking Lot. When the Gentleman Came Out of the Grocery He Whipped Out His Hanky to Open the Car Door ... No Fingernail Scratch or Smudge on His Baby!

Yep, this is this is the one! You know, I doub't the previous owners thought to ever check under the hood. So I cleaned off the 4 years worth of mild dust which accumulated, only to find the engine comparment brand new and practically unused.
