  • TBird hardtop material

How does everyone maintain the base material of the hardtop? I just installed the stainless strips on the Bird.

Wax it just like the rest of the body. You will find if you use a magnet that there is very little metal in the body & HT. It is made of a composit material similar to fiberglass.
Purchase the best of the many waxes out there that are made for today's auto body paints and you will be fine.

Roy, Not sure what your talking about when you say base material but I'm thinking you might mean the rubber gasket around the bottom. If this is the case I think most use a spray silicone on the rubber seal.

I use 303 on the rubber seal on the hard top - My opinion keeping that seal clean is the single most important thing that you can do to reduce the scuffing problem. Over time even the chrome strip will scuff. There are several members that this has happened to already.
