Cashmere Wins “Best Convertible” at United Way Employer-Sponsored Car Show
It was neck and neck to the finish… Cashmere versus a very nicely appointed yellow Pontiac Solstice. And, of course, it became extremely overcast… not flattering weather for a Cashmere with a grayish base coat.
As is my known opinion… the only retro color that looks good on a cloudy day is yellow. Unfortunately, that rule also holds true for competing Pontiac Solstices.
Luckily, they judged the car without me standing next to it… or else Cashmere would have fallen to last place (behind the Chrysler PT Cruiser).
As it was a fund raiser, the winners got a T shirt and the money went to the United Way.
This website and the Porthole Authority were great helps in putting together the facts behind the Cashmere retro birds (see framed write-up on hood). However, I didn’t see a single person stop to read it!!! They did like the Hallmark Christmas ornament box set, though!! Go figure!!
This picture was taken by the yellow Solstice owner… a very nice person and a class act. Of course, Cashmere owners were toooo disorganized to even remember to bring a camera or comb what’s left of their hair.
I notice my driver’s floor mat is getting a little ratty looking… so if anyone hears of a wrecked retro being sold for parts, I could use a new driver’s mat.
