  • Black 2002 w/black lights - interesting look

I was surfing around for parts and stumbled upon this classified. Looks like the guy tinted his front and rear lights in black. At first I thought he also painted the front windshield chome in black, but thats just the lighting of these particular pics (others in ad show chrome). Interesting look though I think it needs to go even more black.

I've always thought black cars look best as either "all black" or "black with healthy chrome accents"...I see a lot of newer mustangs as all black (down the rims)

    (only $13,990 too)

wonder what it looks like when he steps on the brakes? or puts the headlights on?
I would have thought he'd also go for the fog light deletes or covered the fog lights like the rest of the lights. I think I'm with you on blacking out more on the car since he'd gone that far.

If you're going this far, you might as well black out the grille to get a totally monochrome look.

I like the Headlights but not sure on the Tail lights, and if he had the running light delete option it would look even better.

I thought the same thing...surely that severely lessens the headlight\taillight beam's luminosity.

But as far as the front headlights go, I rarely drive my black bird past dusk since it doesn't stand out as much....so I could go for that.

Just found this link for Smoked Headlight tint cut to Retrobird headlight specs... $25. They have other various tint films for sale as well.
Looks like they have Blue, Smoke (light), Smoke (dark) and yellow...
                  Per their website faq's:
Are your colored films legal on headlights for street use?
Clear Protection films are legal. Our colored films may not be legal for street use on primary lighting. Please check your state or local laws before application. Our colored films do not produce a blue or red light when lit. All non-clear films are intended for off-road show car use only.

Nice little caviet at the end there. Got to keep the lawyer's happy. (LOL)

Reminds me of the days when headlight covers were all the rage. I had a black '78 Trans Am back that I made custom black headlight covers for...it looked awesome, but they had to be removed if you wanted to see where you were going at night.

In Maryland, the guys with the blue lights would run out of ink if you even tried to drive that on the street!

I got a verbal warning from the police here in NJ when I installed headlamp covers on my 1985 TurbCoupe.

I took a chance and left them on because, IMHO, they made the front end look great.

                            Never got a ticket.
