Then Ganley L/M in Middleburg came into play, they treated my problem with honest answers and took the time to show me everything in person- all that was going on with my car. Impressed so far. I got a good feeling so far out of Ganley, even found out that a friend of mine just got hired in at the parts department. I do believe that this might lead to a slight discount on parts now.

Congrats... sounds like you have it all well in hand. A little early maintenance on the surrounding parts now will save costly repairs in the future. I say take care of all you can now - multiple trips later for some leaky seals will only add up down the road.

Wow, not my experience with them, one time bought a used car from them, after negotiating the price I asked to take it to my mechanic, when I came back with a couple of things that needed replacing they did it at N/C and did not even try to split the cost which is what my mechanic suggested I do.
Then Took the Bird in for some work on the back bumper, when I went to pay the bill the clerk said it was no charge. When I picked the car up the body shop manager just said to remember them if I need work in the future. I drove right down the street to Carrabba's Italian Grill and got him a gift card and went right back to drop it off.
Oh bty everone turned to look at the Bird when the Borla's fired up in the back of the service bay!
They really sound good in parking garages to, as others can attest to!

        Re: Leaking Sending Unit/Gasket

Came home for a twelve day leave and got my Bird fixed. It took the weekend stay at the dealership for a complete finish, once the parts arrived. The cam sensor gaskets get replaced when the valve cover gakets do, covered. The O2 sensor is not a covered part. The Front SHOCKS are not covered, the original car claims to come with struts according to the dealership- but the Ford replacement parts are shocks that get the coils get placed over them -so they do not fit into the warranty. They showed the numbers and parts, I am left a tad confused by this. They claim it is a renaming of parts or something in some internal Ford memo, hence shocks are not covered. A four wheel alignment, right front was way out of adjustment- also replaced the right front tire. Add in the shop hazmat disposal fees, labor,$100 deductible and the other legal government extortion fees and a bill of just over $600 returned a perfect T Bird. I did get a few miles in before returning to my vessel. I did get the stainless tips, like Leroy's, but ran out of time to put them on. They do just fit right over, but I want to shorten them just a bit. These are going to look great, once installed. My next leave is June 2nd thru the 16th, am looking forward to getting some more T Time in. Thanks to all. Also plan on learning how to post pictures, people need to see more MSG Birds!

Thanks Dot, it looks just like mine! minus the chrome package! I also did love your colour of the old Bronze. Must admit all of them look great. While growing up my Aunt drove her father's 57, TB Bronze with White interior and hard top, T Bird for parades and fun, that is when my love for the Thunderbird started. I hope to find a Bronze Retro that I can afford someday, and have a two T Bird garage. My luck may even bring a 57 TB Bronze, I will take what I can get. Banar

The person I talked to has a 2004 and his was leaking and he said it was a seperate rubber gasket, not attached to the sensor. I don't know for sure as I have not tried removing mine but he stated it was an inexpensive gasket and that the sensor just pushed into the engine.
I have the same problem on my 2004. Any idea what the part number is on the cam positioning sensor rubber?

Hopefully Bird 42 can help faster than I can, I am out on the boat until July 14. I will try to make a few calls to see if my family can find my records- but I advise on not holding your breathe. I do seem to remember them only listing a gasket kit- and this is covereed by Base Warranty- so I never honestly looked that close at the bill. I was just happy to get it back in time to drive it for a day or two before going back to work.
