The previous owner of my '03 Bird installed the chrome rear lamp accessory bezels sold by T'Bird Concepts. Perhaps he did a poor job of installiing them, but the result is that they do not fit very well - the top surface sticks above the quarter panel surface and does not look like a quality fit. Does anyone know how I can remove them without damaging the original factory bezels?. If I can get them off I might try to install them again, but my real concern is to not break the original bezels.

Re: Rear Lamp Bezels - (T'Bird Concept)
Use a hair dryer and heat the area where they are glued. Oh the area where they are glued is only the round ring portion, not the top. Once they are good a warm will soften the glue and they can be removed but do it gently and slow and you will have no problem. I have seen many that were installed hastely and that is why they stick up.
Now if you were here in KC I would do it for you as I have removed and adjusted several
on TBird cars. Once you get them off let me know and I will PM you instruction for putting them back on properly, there is a little trick to it. Bunny Lou

Man I hate to hear that I was planning on buying them cause in the pictures they really look sharp! That's the main reason I'm going to Dearborn in June was for ideas as to what other folks have done that appeals to me. I think those are attached with 3m tape so apply a little heat with a heat gun just a little heat and work it slowly you might get them off without damage to the lensBorn On February 14th 2002 Valentines Day!

Lou did a great job with mine. He does have a lot of experience with these and had a few good tricks to assure it was aligned, flush, and didn't interfere/contact the trunk lid when it is opening/closing. Take him up on his offer!

I used Tommy's method...heat & dental floss...came off like a dream, and I sold the bezels in pristine condition to Theron. They look much better on his silver Bird.sigpic

Ed is right, I dry fitted mine first to make sure the angle corresponded with the body line and trunk opening and it worked out just fine.

If you look at Gord's photo's you will see a slight angle to the bar across the tailight.I think some may try to make it straight and this may throw off the fit. When I first started to fit them I had it level and the fit was NG. That's why you should try them dry first.sigpic
