    For me, no problem on front 2 clamps but not enough thread on back 2 clamps to secure the cap nuts.

      John, Don't know where your locating your rack on the trunk lid but my screws were long enough in front and back of lid. Mine measure 1.200".
      Here is where I located mine.

        Spence, I've been known to have a wide rear-end. Maybe that's the problem.

          Installed the luggage rack today but I think my trunk must be out of alignment because no matter how many times I would measure I couldn't get it exactly the same on all legs (front vs front & rear vs rear). Maybe shipping did something to the legs? Anyway I finally eyeballed it and then measured from the rack itself and not the legs. Looks good.

          I did have the new pads on mine as my order was more recent.

            Aaron, I'm so glad to see you've come up with new pads. I used my rack for a trip to NOLA (1,000 miles each way) for a week and it worked beautifully but when I took the rack off, I did notice the pads were worn. I've been meaning to ask if there were replacement pads available. Also, I did receive the straps, I just never knew what they were for! Thanks everyone!

                  Hey Elle!
                  Sorry about that, real life has been VERY real for me lately. Kids in college, kids in high school, and a divorce in the mix. Throw in a gov't shutdown and that just about does it for me!!

                  I will mark my calendar for it, hopefully I will find a little extra time by then. I was looking at doing the Caribbean cruise, have y'all looked into that?

                        YES!!! They just arrived about an hour ago...looking forward to installing, but I'll wait till it's time to transfer the rack from Goldi to Moondoggie.

                          Elle, Glad to see you got yours, have been waiting to see when they start to arrive. To date, I got a lot of money tied up in metal, sitting in my garage. Tried to put the rack on before one of Toms mini cruises Presidents day weekend, took it right back off as I didn't have confidence the pads (replaced once already) were going to protect my trunk. Hope mine will arrive soon.
