  • Do I Need Professional Help With This?

    Hello Everyone:

Well, I have a problem. My 2002 (Thunderbird blue, with partial accent) is in the parking garage where I live and, on the days that I don't drive her, I specially go to the floor where she is parked and just stand there for 10 or 15 minutes, looking and admiring her from all angles. I cannot get over how beautiful she is!

Do I need professional help with this obsession or do you think it will eventually go away on it's own?

    All advice appreciated :)

    Best regards - Roger

Yes you definately need professional help. Therefore seek out the assistance of a doctor that owns a Thunderbird.

You have what is known as "Thunderbird Fever" and it is a sickness that I have experienced for the past 54 years since the age of 10. Unfortunately there is no known cure except to sit longingly feasting your eyes on the beauty that is Thunderbird.

The only thing that will give you any relief is to drive the object of your affection as much and as often as humanly possible (weather permiting).

For those times of year when it is not possible to drive your Thunderbird due to bad weather then it is totally acceptable to sit behind the wheel and make motor sounds with your mouth in the privacy of your own parking space.

You realize of course that others may question your sanity and you are therefore obligated to do this only in off hours such as the middle of the night or the middle of the afternoon when no one else is around. If caught, you realize that you might be institutionalized for short periods of times and subjected to anti-psycotic drugs. but this is well worth the risk you must freely assume to feed your Thunderbird habit.

Like many of us I am sad to say, that you are thoroughly hook like any adict who seeks artificial means to find a way to get a high. My advice to you is to get high and soar as high as you can, as often as you can in your Thunderbird.

A Driving Experience, Unique in all the World.

Please send your donations to me to assist others who are experiencing similar adictive reliances on Thunderbirds so that I might purchase many more Thunderbirds and remove them from the public to affect a cure and relieve their suffering.

I realize that is somewhat unselfish of me to expose myself to this incurable disease, but that is the type of humanitarian that I am.

Yes, Sainthood is within my grasp!

All as it should be. The TBird is an inspired piece of automotive art.

Yes, as Dr. Gord points out, you have Thunderbird fever.... and your fever is the strongest because you have TBird Blue, the most addictive colour !! Just check out the photos from Ottawa Spring Bling, that colour was seen in pandemic proportions !!

Well I am happy to add that Black, Red, Silver & Bronze ones were far more rare, at least in this instance.

Between our two retros, over 150K miles of smiles. Was letting her caress me today while driving so let me explain that. I love the feel of the seat back on my back as I go down the freeway. Very soothing. An obsession? yes, my house reflects that in every room.

Fortunately, I do not suffer from this affliction. The Merlot Marauder is just another mode of transport. Nothing more, noth . . .

(Hold a minute - I just heard a bird fly by. I need to go check on its flawless, metal-flecked fininish. OK, no drop.)

                          . . . ing less.

Attending TBN events will help ease the symptoms and because you are with a group of people doing the same, no one may notice.

Some of you appear to be in Stage 4 of the disease. Fear not as the new healthcare reforms mandate coverage for a "check up from the neck up". Follow up treatments may be needed with group therapy at these TBN events.
