  • keys and remote

I am an idiot I locked my keys and remote in the truck and the alarm is on. I was able to use a slimjim to open the door but it will not let me in the trunk with the trunk release while it is armed does anyone have any secrets that they can share with me so I can get my keys back.

This may be somewhat disturbing, but here goes. Our Birds are not bullet proof. If you are in the driver's compartment, gently flip the driver seat forward and begin to remove the rear interior corner panel. Once the corner is out, pull up the carpet- gently enough to expose the insides. One can now reach inside and grab the back of the remote trunk key release and Gently seperate it from the tumbler assembly. Next take a small flat blade screwdriver and insert in slot and turn. This should pop your trunk open and teach you how to play with your baby. I found this out the fun way. Also it is a good idea to check that your ignition key works this lock, as I found out that mine did not. I just got a new key and fob from a local locksmith, cut and programmed for 96$. All is back to well now, hope this helped. Banar

I went to the dealership with the registration and they cut me a key for the door so i an disarm the alarm and then I was able to open the trunk. But that wasn,t the end of it. When i opened the trunk NO KEYS I was like holly sh%^ where the hell are they, wouldn,t you k now it I moved the couch in my livingroom and their they where under the couch I guess one of the cats used them as a toy. So in the end it cost me $70 and a days pay at work.

You should have gotten two keys and remotes with the car, I won't comment on the other part of this post. Guess this falls under the heading (SH-T happens).
