Re: 55th Anniversary travel home check in

Left Joplin yesterday, got back to Tulsa saw some friends left about noon, spent night in Amarillo. Twenty miles outside of Amarillo I got pulled over by highway patrol, I was doing 25 over speed limit. He gave me a warning and told me to keep it down. Guess I was lucky on that one.

Glad to hear that everyone is safe back home in their nests. I echo what Paul Thomas said, its amazing the friends you make and the fun you have with this little car. I really enjoyed catching up with old friends, Bob and Norma, Spence and Judy, Paul and Rozetta, Bill, Dot and George, Vickie, Dennis and Mary, Dennis and Marcia, the list keeps going on. At every event I love meeting new people I've only seen post and, this was no exception. I finally got to meet Merle, Mike, Elle and Charlie, Trecken, our Canadian friends, NJ Susan, etc. There were so many and so little time to get to know you all. Hope to see everyone again at another event. Paul Nichols and his group did a fantastic job of organizing all this, its not an easy thing to do. I've lived my whole life in this area and have never heard of a car group being able to drive the streets of Greenfield Village. That was an honor. We were so...lucky on the weather, Sunday it rained like mad here. Thanks to you all for coming to visit!

Loved all of the Greenfield videos you took, Elle. Saw my 57 in the first one with me sitting on the back. I think I need to get some more SD cards for camera so I have room for videos. Would have been a treat to have some of my own from this trip. Haven't even looked at my photos yet but do have to get them all off the camera sometime today and ready for our next adventure.

On our way home yesterday, stopped in Carthage, MO for a couple of hours to visit the Precious Moments grounds and chapel. Worth seeing and it's free to visit if any of you ever get in the area.

Just out of Dearborn was the Ford assembly plant. When war broke out it was converted to a bomber plant making B-24's. One every 55 minutes. Here is a video. It is 7 minutes long, so look when you have time.

Paul - is there another way to view the video? I'm not on AOL, and it seems you have to have an account to view it.

Susan and I walked into the house at 10PM it was 85 degrees, on went the air. We encountered one traffic delay on Rt 80 PA for 1.5 hours for construction. The Garmin GPS worked great and found us a Panera Bread for supper. Thanks to Paul and Mark for putting on a great event. Met many of the Thunderbird nestors and other T Bird owners. If anyone would like to see my photos, please send me a private message with your email address. I don't know how to make a link to the Walgreen site.

                    Here's the two corrected links
(tbn format seems to shorten the urls so one must copy the "shortcut" in order to copy them from another message that works)
