Re: While at Dearborn and Coming Home.

Sorry about your bad luck Spence I know it will look like new when repaired. I had to have my rear bumper and right quarter panel repaired, cost $250 and it came out of my pocket, you canot tell it now. I found a great local bodyman.

Spence, look at the wonerful outpouring of support for you here on TBN...too bad it's for a windshield and bumper...but I bet that support would be there for happy news too...like when the 'bird is fixed

Re: While at Dearborn and Coming Home.

They came to the house yesterday and installed my new windshield and for a mere $250.00 extra I got the correct writing and T-Bird emblem on the button of the glass.

As soon as the dealer gets the new tail light in it will be staying a few days in the body shop.

Hey Spence, some day down the road, at a futere event, we can finish the day up on the deck with a few more beers and your cigar and have a good laugh about all the mishaps over the years. To think, it could have been much worse and that 'elephant' could have sat on your new trunk rack.
Hope your repairs will bring it back like new,

Had my windshield replaced about year ago. It had to come from US -original with the emblem- but my insurance covered al cost. That surprised me as much as it does that yours don't

Frits, They would have covered it 100% if I didn't want an orginal made by Carlite and the T-Bird emblem on it. The new one is the same writing but it says it's by PPG. The installer said they both made them. My first two had Carlite on them and this one says PPG. But the emblem is on it.

..Hi Spence....Carlite never made the windshields...but made side glass and backglass....PPG is the only manufacturer of the windshields.....with and without the T-Bird logo's.....

Here is Misty without her windshield.

Martin, Carlite may not have made this windshield but their name was stamped on the glass. On the new one in it's place it says PPG. The orginal from the factory also had the Carlite name stamped on it.

                          Spence,
Glad to hear you got home safely, that's the most important thing! When we drive 'em, we enjoy 'em. The hot rodders always say, "Real rods have "road rash"!", I guess this applies as road rash, albeit repairable!

                            Spence,

Your pictures are pretty scary. That operation needs to be done in a back room somewhere out of the sight of the owner.

Claude, I like to see things taken apart. That way I know how they are made. I know, it's not for the faint of heart and maybe I should have put a disclamer in this when posting.
