            Great looking car Jeanne!
Some of my favorite Thunderbirds were from that 1961-1966 era. Love it!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I don't want to burst David's bubble, he had his heart set on being Thelma, but since we all know Thelma actually OWNED the TBird and not Louise, well..... I really don't want to hear his whining, I am sure you understand.

Joe, of course Louise is who ever we decide to be Louise. Remember she was the one who had the fling with a very young and sexy Brad Pitt.

Let David be Louise when you travel to Georgia.... that way he can do a re-enactment and have a fling with a Peach Pitt....

Ok. So Bonnie and I spent last week-end in Nashville checking out "Jeanne's New Arrival" the one that I predicted would not make it five hundred miles from its home in Colorado Springs. The new arrival that made it 150 miles before my good friend DavidA threw in the towel and called the tow truck and had it shipped to Nashville. The new arrival that was on the hoist of a neighborhood garage when we arrived.

I promised I would report back with the "unbondoed truth" . Before seeing the car we had a couple bottles of wine while I let DavidA paint glowing mental pictures of Jeannie's new '66 Bird Convertible. He talked of no rust, he talked of original 26,000 miles, he talked about perfect white leather interior.. I reminded him that bondo does not rust, that there is little difference between 26,000 and 126,000 miles if you have a reversible electric drill, I reminded him that his dream of 40 year old white leather was a fantasy.

So the next morning we all went to see Jeanne's new arrival. We all know David. We all know that he is a reforming "blow hard". BUT after seeing the car, he was absolutely on the money with this great 66 Bird Covert. Better than advertised. Can't wait to see Jeanne taunting everyone with this great car at Redneck Rivera in October. It is truly a great find.!!!

Many years back - in Columbia, SC - I had a '65 in Aqua with the white interior. What I remember most was the fantastic space age interior and the interior lights - seemed like they were everywhere. When you opened the doors, the white leather, chrome everywhere, and lights in everything just kind of blinded you. I loved it - but I was a lot younger and probably was on something at the time.

P.S. I also remember a flat tire in Charleston and not being able to find the jack anywhere. After I bought a replacement, I found it neatly hidden under the passenger side fender.

Well, just to be safe, it is at the mechanics replacing all the oil seals and to get the A/C working again. Also, new plugs, wires and a full tune-up. I had the transmission pulled to replace the rear main seal and while it is out, do a seal kt on the tranny. That is why I tossed in the towel on the trip back. It started leaking transmission fluid from the gear changing area. I am hoping to hedge all bets and make this thing as mechanically sound as possible for a 44 year old car. As soon as I get it back, I'll put on new tires and then begin road tests and cleanup.

BTW, the jack is in the passenger fender.
