Hooray, Hooray, Hooray, Today I got my Bird back from the body shop after being hit while parked. Fantastic job, and i'm thrilled to death at the match of paint. Fortunatly there was no body work to do, just replace the front clip in one piece, and paint. Interestingly, something I did'nt know was the color. they called it Thunderbird Blue Pearl Met. first time I heard the word pearl in the color. Any way, you guys who said it would come out alright were right on and I thank you.

Never heard that name either. It may have been the name that a supplier uses for that color. The old touch-up bottles you could get from your dealer were labeled Thunderbird Blue along with the paint number. I still have one around somewhere in the garage that is still packed up in a box I haven't gotten to yet.

Glad it came out good for you. My back bumper was repainted a month or so ago and you can't see any difference.

The shop said it was no off the shelf item, so I guess each supplier has a name like you suggested. I'm just happy it was right on.

The color's name in Ford's marketing materials and the window sticker is called Thunderbird Vintage Blue.

Thats interesting, My window sticker says body color Thunderbird Blue, hardtop , Thunderbird Blue.

I was thinking more in the lines of a full wall mural picture, but wife says her, or it. HUMMMMMM. guess wife has seniority.

I had Judge Judy look up a few old things we had on file. One was an 02 Ford Thunderbird Brochure and on there they called the color Thunderbird Blue. Our window sticker that came off our car when new also called it Thunderbird Blue. For what it's worth.

ok, now the question to Phil, what Ford publication besides your window sticker called the color Thunderbird Vintage Blue?

Checked a 2002 brochure from Ford Canada and the only difference is the addition of "clearcoat". ( Thunderbird Blue Clearcoat). Also used with all the other exterior colours.

ps. Have extra's and will bring some to "Keystone Thunder"
