Anthony, removal is probably going to involve a hairdryer set on high, and masking tape for marking the exact location before you remove, and perhaps a bit of mineral spirits. All this, if my assumption is correct that they are adhesive. Keep in mind that TB-blue (well, that sea-foam, aqua color) is the signature color of the Thunderbird badge.

From your pictures, the color looks stock to the emblem. Are you saying he painted them a different shade of blue/green?
The emblem that is on your steering wheel is the correct color. If your nose emblems match that, then the emblems are ok, if not, then you might be ahead to replace.

As for ease in getting the emblems off and replacing, they are glued on, ie, there is an adhesive that makes them stick on. To remove, you can use some fine dental floss and work the emblems off the nose. Others might have other suggestions.

Yes, The guy had the emblems painted too! uGH.. It does look stock from the picture I Posted. I guess the original didn't match the striping he put on so he had them painted as well to match......It looks OK but I want the original ones on. Thanks for the info on replacing them. It's seems pretty easy.

I may try to strip it first with laquer and a swab but may be easier to replace them. Any thoughts on leaving them the same? What would you guys do? I'm picking up my new ride on Thursday!!! It's like brand new even though it's an 03. Only 93k on it.

That's a positive way of looking it!

Anthony, it sure looks pretty close to the original paint as far as I can tell from your photo. Check it out by comparing it to another T-Bird.

Nice stripes and has me wondering about mine. The color on the PCR's doesn't contrast much and is about an inch or so higher. I am sure they are factory. Did Ford stripe different years differently?

Ron, to tell you the truth I don't think Ford did any stripes on any Birds from the factory. Dot would know for sure.

Charlie, get in here. Was yours stripped from the factory?

Except for being the most beautiful retro Thunderbird color, the PCR came from the FoMoCo as a plain Jane, no pinstripes.

                      That's what I thought. Thanks.

A little off topic but that's what is happening with people buying these cars used. There has been a lot of things done to them by orginal owners that may look factory but aren't.

Anthony, Before doing anything I would compair it to another Bird. If you still think it is an after market paint job follow Dot's instructions for getting the orginal ones off.

Spence, I think I'm going to do that. I kind of wanted it to be the original even though it wouldn't match the striping. I remember when I was looking at the T-Bird, you can see a little of the paint on the crome. I went and looked at another one that same day and knew the one I was going to buy was painted.....Thanks for the quick response!..AD
